1. MAGYAR - A MAGYAR HOLOCAUST 60. ÉVFORDULÓJA

A Magyar Posta Rt. alkalmi bélyeg kibocsátásával emlékezik meg a magyar holocaust áldozatairól. Megjelenik: 2004. április 16-án.

„1944-ben fekete volt a tavasz, a nyár, az ősz és a tél is. Tavasszal Magyarország elvesztette nemzeti függetlenségét. Az egymás érdekeit 1939-ben még paktumban rögzítő, Lengyelország fölosztásáról titkos záradékban egyezkedő náci Németország és a Szovjetunió akkor már évek óta élethalálharcot vívott egymással. Európa nagy részéhez hasonlóan abban az évben Magyarország is összecsapásuk színterévé vált. … Pusztán származásuk miatt arra ítélték honfitársaink egy részét, hogy a magyarság többségétől elkülönülten, a nácik által az európai zsidóság számára kitervelt, cinikusan Endlösungnak, végleges megoldásnak nevezett gyilkos politika martalékául essenek.”

„A második világháború során a hatmillió zsidó áldozat mellett mintegy fél millió európai roma pusztult el a náci munka- és koncentrációs táborokban. A magyarországi roma holocaust áldozatainak számát illetően a becslések öttől ötvenezerig terjednek. A fennmaradt dokumentumok alapján becsült 5000 főn túl azonban felmérhetetlen azoknak a romáknak a száma, akiket a különböző fasiszta egységek lőttek agyon, vagy a különböző gyűjtőtáborokban pusztultak el.”

A bélyegkép – a jelen vizuális kultúráját szem előtt tartva – igyekszik méltó emléket állítani a máig ható tragédia szomorú évfordulójának. A tervező mellőzi a téma közhelyeit, harsány és durva eszközök helyett finom, lírai jelképrendszert használ, így emlékezve a tragikus események áldozataira. A bélyeg grafikájának és színvilágának kialakításakor nem célja a néző sokkolása, kerüli az erős színeket, a vöröset, a feketét. A világoskék és árnyalatainak gazdagsága a szemlélő érzelmeire hat. Az önmagában is gyönyörű folyami kavics ügyetlen karca, csak apró beavatkozás a természet dolgába, mégis a bélyeg képi világának fő elemévé válik.

A bélyeghez tartozó alkalmi borítékon egy koncentrációs tábor jelképpé egyszerűsített képe tűnik fel, az alkalmi bélyegző grafikáján a szögesdrót stilizált rajza látható.
