1. MAGYAR - A TUDOMÁNY VILÁGFÓRUMA

A Magyar Posta alkalmi bélyeg kibocsátásával köszönti a 2011. november 17-19. között ismételten Budapesten megrendezésre kerülő Tudomány Világfórumát (World Science Forum). Az eseményt a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia szoros együttműködésben szervezi, az UNESCO, az ICSU (Nemzetközi Tudományos Tanács) és az AAAS (Amerikai Tudományfejlesztő Szövetség) szervezetekkel.

1999-ben a Tudomány Világkonferenciáján (World Conference on Science) határoztak úgy a szerve-zők, hogy Budapesten kétévente Budapesten tartják a Tudomány Világfórumát. Az elmúlt évek budapesti fórumai változatos témákkal várták a világ tudósait: „Tudomány és társadalom” (Knowledge and Society, 2003), „Tudomány, etika és felelősség” (Knowledge, Ethics and Responsibility, 2005), „Beruházás a tudásba: Beruházás a jövőbe” (Investing in Knowledge: Investing in the Future 2007) és „Tudomány és jövő” (Knowledge and Future, 2009). 2011-ben a Tudomány Világfórumának központi témája: „A tudomány változó területe” (The Changing Landscape of Science, 2011).

A 2003. évi XCIII. törvényben a magyar országgyűlés „november 3-át – azt a napot, amelyen 1825-ben Széchenyi István birtokainak 1 évi jövedelmét Magyar Tudós Társaság alapításának céljára felajánlotta, és ezzel lehetővé tette a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia megalapítását – a Magyar Tudomány ünnepévé nyilvánítja.” A Magyar Tudomány Ünnepe 2011. évi rendezvénysorozata november 3-30. között, az egész országban kerül megrendezésre. Fővédnökei hagyományosan az MTA elnöke és a miniszterelnök. (Forrás: mta.hu)

A bélyegkép főmotívuma A Tudomány Világfóru-ma logo, melynek része az esemény angol elnevezése: „WORLD SCIENCE FORUM BUDAPEST”, a háttérben a rendezvénynek otthont adó Magyar Tudományos Akadémia épülete tűnik elő. A bélyeghez tartozó alkalmi borítékot egy földgömb sziluettje, az alkalmi bélyegzőt pedig a Magyar Tudományos Akadémia épületének stilizált rajza díszíti.

2. ENGLISH - WORLD SCIENCE FORUM

Hungarian Post is marking the World Science Forum, which is to be held again in Budapest between 17 and 19 November 2011, by issuing a special stamp.

The event is organised by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in close cooperation with UNESCO, the ICSU (International Council for Science) and the AAAS (American Association for the Advancement of Science).

In 1999 at the World Conference on Science the organisers decided to hold the World Science Forum every two years in Budapest. In 2001 UNESCO declared 10 November to be “World Science Day”, since when science and scientists have been celebrated on this date. From then onwards, the dates for the World Science Forum have been fixed to coincide with this date. The forums in Budapest over recent years have dealt with a variety of topics for scientists from all over the world: Knowledge and Society (2003), Knowledge, Ethics and Responsibility (2005), Investing in Knowledge: Investing in the Future (2007) and Knowledge and Future (2009). In 2011 the central theme of the World Science Forum is The Chang-ing Landscape of Science (2011).

By Act XCIII of 2003 the Hungarian Parliament declared 3 November – the day in 1825, on which István Széchenyi offered 1 year’s income from his estates for the purposes of establishing a Learned Society, thus facilitating the foundation of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS) – to be Hungarian Science Day. The series of events for Hun-garian Science Day in 2011 will be held between 3 and 30 November with programmes throughout the country. Its main patrons are traditionally the president of the HAS and the prime minister. (Source: mta.hu)
