1. MAGYAR - MELLRÁK "ADUNK A GYÓGYULÁSRA"
A mellrák elleni küzdelem világszerte a figyelem középpontjába került. A halálos kór tragédiákat hagyva maga után mindenütt szedi áldozatait.
A mellrák azonban kellő összefogással, és a fenyegető betegség lehetőségével való tudatos szembenézéssel legyőzhető. A tudomány, a diagnosztikai eszközök és a terápiás lehetőségek állandó fejlődése mellett a folyamatos és tudatos önvizsgálat, az egészséges életmód kialakítása, valamint a 45. életév felett a szűréseken való rendszeres részvétel – a mellrák elleni küzdelem hatékony eszközei.
A kisgyermekkora óta az Amerikai Egyesült Államokban élő Bodai Balázs mellsebész, a kaliforniai Sacramento Mellsebészeti Centrumának professzora gyógyító-kutató munkája során maga is megtapasztalta betegei körében a korai felismerés és a kedvező gyógyulási statisztikák közötti kedvező összefüggést. A ’90-es évek második felében, egy szakmai előadás írása közben jött a gondolat: mennyit segítene a megelőző-felvilágosító munkában, ha leveleken és más postai küldeményeken is a mellrák elleni küzdelem fontosságát lehetne „megüzenni” az embereknek. A gondolatot tett követte, és Amerikában – két évi előkészítő munka és lobbyzás eredményeként – 1998 óta forgalmi bélyeg viszi a hírt az embereknek a mellrák elleni küzdelemről, és fontosságáról.
A „Mellrák: Adunk a gyógyulásra” bélyeg értékesítése eredményeként befolyó felár – eladott példányonként 50 forint – összegét a Magyar Posta az Országos Onkológiai Intézet elkülönített számlájára utalja át.
A bélyegen a vadászat és harc istennője szerepel, ezzel is jelképezve a küzdelmet a betegség ellen. Az egyszerű vonalvezetésű női alak színes környezetben található, a grafika részeként az „ADUNK A GYÓGYULÁSRA!” felirat jelenik meg. (A magyar postabélyeg érdekessége, hogy az Amerikai Posta által, 1998. július 29-én kibocsátott bélyeg grafikájával megegyező, illetve az alapján készült.) A bélyeghez tartozó alkalmi boríték grafikáját – a Semmelweis Egyetem Kútvölgyi Klinikai Tömbjében található – Németh Mihály szobrászművész által készített „Az élet lángja” elnevezésű alkotásának részlete díszíti. Az alkalmi bélyegzőn az „Összefogás” embléma látható.

The fight against breast cancer has been brought to the centre of attention all over the world. The lethal condition, leaving tragedy behind it, reaps its victims everywhere. Young active lives are lost for nothing in terrible trials and suffering. The lives of families are wrecked, because young people and children lose their mothers, and their fathers are left to keep the family together.
However, with sufficient cooperation and by consciously facing the threat of the illness breast cancer can be conquered.
Besides the continuous development of science, diagnostic instruments and therapies, continuous and conscious self-examination, living a healthy lifestyle and regularly participating in screenings over the age of 45 – these are the effective weapons in the fight against breast cancer.
Due to the intensive awareness work there is an increasing number of these illnesses that are recognised in the initial stages and so can be treated with success. It looks to be a paradox but it is true: the number of cases registered is increasing and there are increasingly fewer cases resulting in death, because 90 percent of the cases of breast cancer diagnosed early and treated can be cured!
Breast surgeon Balázs Bodai, who has lived in the United States of America since early childhood, is a professor at the Sacramento Breast Surgery Center in California. During his healing and research work he himself has experienced the favourable relationship between early diagnosis and favourable treatment statistics among his patients. And in the second half of the 90s when writing a lecture he had the idea: how much would the preventative and awareness work be helped by placing the “message” of the importance of the fight against breast cancer on letters and other postal items. In households, for families and for the – mainly female – staff at work opening the mail.
The thought was put into action, and in America – as a result of two years of preparation work and lobbying – since 1998 postage stamps have been spreading the news to people of the fight against breast cancer and its importance. But it is not just a communication device and a small piece of paper: every stamp sold contributes 8 cents to the finance of research work. Over the past 7 years the buyers of 670 million stamps have contributed more than 50 million dollars to breast cancer research.
Today to other dreams of professor Balázs Bodai, the initiator of the stamp, will come true: the stamp will start its journey around the world outside of the United States of America, and what is more, its first stop will be the land of his birth, Hungary. Today nearly 30 countries have signalled their interest in issuing the stamp.
The idea of issuing a “Fight against breast cancer” stamp in Hungary came up months ago, and was realised in a way unusual in international stamp issuing practices. As it is rare, if not without precedent, for the postal authority of a country to receive the right to issue a currently used stamp of another country.
This is what has happened. This also goes as an example as to how important this joint fight stretching over nations, border and continents is to the people of the 21st century.
The surcharged “Fight against breast cancer” postage stamp is being issued with a nominal value of HUF 90+50. This means HUF 90 may be used to pay for sending postal items, and the HUF 50, the surcharge will go to Hungarian breast cancer research. The stamp will be distributed by the Post until 31 December 2006.
The issue of the Hungarian surcharged postage stamp is a part of the Hungarian-American Memorandum of Understanding on Health and Medical Sciences between the Department of Health and Human Services of the United States of America and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Hungary signed in January 2005 in Washington. According to the agreement and the joint decision of George H. Walker ambassador for the United States of America and Jenő Rácz dr. Minster of Health of the Republic of Hungary the surcharges – HUF 50 per stamp sold – received as a result of the sale of the “Fight against breast cancer” stamp will be transferred by the Hungarian Post to the separate account of the National Oncology Institute. A professional committee, headed by professor Dr Miklós Kásler, meeting every quarter will decide on its use.
Statistics are abstract numbers: but statistic always relate to people, individual lives, individual tragedies. The social awareness work carried out in Hungary since 2001 and the screening program that has received much attention have had their effects. Now in 2005 breast cancer has fallen from 1st place to 3rd in the list of causes of death in women.
The society-level awareness work, self-examination and participation in screenings, however, will not become unnecessary, even if a single woman fails to lose her life as a consequence of breast cancer.

Der weltweite Kampf gegen den Brustkrebs hat den Fokus des Interesses standen. Die Krankheit ist tödlich Tragödie hinterlassen alle Opfer nehmen.
Breast cancer, aber eine gute Zusammenarbeit, und die Androhung von Krankheit, überwinden die Möglichkeit der bewussten szembenézéssel. Die Wissenschaft, Diagnose-und Therapiemöglichkeiten in der neben der ständigen Weiterentwicklung der Introspektion und bewusste, gesunde Lebensführung, und 45 Im Laufe der Jahre die regelmäßige Überprüfung der Beteiligung - im Kampf gegen Brustkrebs ist eine wirksame Methode.

Der Kampf gegen den Brustkrebs Recovery "-Stempel für zusätzlichen Zulauf als Folge verkauft - verkauft bis zu 50 Forint - der Betrag der ungarischen Post, isoliert das National Cancer Institute das Konto zu übertragen.
Der Aufkleber auf der Göttin der Jagd und in der Schlacht, repräsentiert damit den Kampf gegen die Krankheit. Einfache Linien der weiblichen Figur in bunten Umgebungen, die verwendeten Grafiken Teil des "We The Healing" angezeigt wird. (Ungarisch Porto interessant, dass die US-Post bis Juli 1998. 29 Marken auf dem gleichen Grafiken erstellt oder ausgegeben.) Den Umschlag von gelegentlichen Grafiken - der Semmelweis-Universität, Klinische Kútvölgyi Block gefunden - von dem Bildhauer Stamp Michael Nemeth " Die Flamme des Lebens ", unter Angabe der bekannten Einrichtung eingerichtet. Die gelegentliche Stempel der "Verbinden"-Logo wird angezeigt.
