1. MAGYAR - II. PÁL PÁPA BOLDOGGÁ AVATÁSA
2011. május 1-jén, vasárnap boldoggá avatta elődjét XVI. Benedek pápa, a néhai II. János Pált a vatikáni Szent Péter téren több százezer ember részvételével tartott szentmisén.
A pápa tíz óra harmincnyolc perckor mondta el latinul az ilyenkor szokásos formulát, amellyel boldoggá nyilvánította a katolikus egyházat 1978-tól 2005. évi haláláig vezető II. János Pált. A boldog ünnepnapja – 1978-as pápai beiktatásának napja – október huszonkettedike lesz.
A boldoggá avatás a szentté avatási eljárás első része. II. Jánost Pált (1920-2005) a modernkori időben rekordgyorsasággal, halála után mindössze hat évvel és egy hónappal avatták boldoggá.
Az alkalmi borítékon a boldoggá avatás helyszíne, a vatikáni Szent Péter bazilika épületrészlete látható. A borítékon II. János Pál pápa portréját ábrázoló alkalmi bélyegző lenyomat díszíti az 1991-ben látogatása tiszteletére, vagy a 2005-ben emlékére kibocsátott bélyegblokkot.

2. ENGLISH - BEATIFICATION OF POPE JOHN PAUL II
Magyar Posta is celebrating the beatification of Pope John Paul II by issuing a commemorative cover.
On Sunday, 1 May 2011, Pope Benedict XVI beatified his predecessor, the late Pope John Paul II, before a crowd of many hundreds of thousands of people at a mass in St Peter’s Square in the Vatican. At ten thirty-eight the Pope beatified Pope John Paul II, who was the leader of the Catholic Church from 1978 until his death in 2005, in the traditional Latin rite. The feast day of Blessed John Paul II is the same day as his papal investiture in 1978, 22 October.
Beatification is the first part in the process of canonisation. John Paul II (1920-2005) was beatified at record speed in modern times, only six years and one month after his death.
The commemorative cover shows a detail of Saint Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican, the location of the beatification. On the cover the special postmark of a portrait of Pope John Paul II adorns either the stamp block issued in honour of his visit in 1991 or the stamp block issued in his memory in 2005.

Die Magyar Posta gibt anlässlich der Seligsprechung von Papst Johannes II einen Sonderumschlag aus.
Am 1. Mai 2011 sprach Papst Benedikt XVI. bei einer feierlichen Heiligen Messe unter Teilnahme von mehreren hunderttausend Menschen auf dem vatikanischen Petersplatz seinen Vorgänger, den verstorbenen Papst Johannes Paul II. selig. Um zehn Uhr achtunddreißig Minuten sprach der Papst Johannes Paul II., der die katholische Kirche von 1978 bis zum seinem Tod im Jahr 2005 führte, mit der traditionellen lateinischen Formel selig und bestimmte den zweiundzwanzigsten Oktober – den Tag seiner Einführung ins Amt im Jahre 1978 – zu seinem Gedenktag.
Die Seligsprechung ist die Vorstufe zur Heiligkeit. Johannes Paul II. (1920-2005) wurde in Rekordzeit, nur sechs Jahre und einen Monat nach seinem Tode selig gesprochen.
Auf dem Sonderumschlag ist der Schauplatz der Seligsprechung, ein Teil des Gebäudes der Vatikanischen Petersbasilika zu sehen. Auf dem Umschlag ziert der Abdruck eines das Porträt von Johannes Paul II. abbildenden Sonderstempels den Briefmarkenblock, der zu Ehren seines Besuchs im Jahr 1991 beziehungsweise zu seiner Erinnerung im Jahr 2005 ausgegeben worden war.
